REGISTRATIONS FOR THE XIIITH EDITION ARE OPEN!

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

1. Terms

the participation form must be completed and sent by 1 July 2024.The works (short/short films and animation) must be delivered no later than 15 July 2024..

2. Selection of the finalists

Of the Works received, a first selection will be made to choose the 20 finalists by a Committee chosen by the Board of Directors whose judgment is unquestionable.

3.Projection of the finalist films

The Film selected as finalists will be screened in a cinema on two evenings in October 2024. Each finalist will be awarded a recognition plaque. On the third evening, the films judged to be the best by a qualified jury will be awarded, whose members will be announced via the website festivaldelcinemanuovo.it which will award the prizes listed in the following point.

4.1 Prizes

Festival del Cinema Nuovo will award the following prizes:

Short films category
1st place: € 2.000,00
2nd place: € 1.500,00
3rd place: € 1.000,00

Super short films category / Videoclips
1st place: € 700,00
2nd place: € 600,00
3rd place: € 500,00

Animation category
1st place: € 500.00

4.2 Special Prizes

"CulturAgile" - Allianz UMANA MENTE Foundation Award to the best Work focused on the theme of inclusive sport. The works must promote the irreplaceable social role of sport for the physical and cognitive development and for the subjective and relational well-being of each individual, both those with disabilities and those experiencing difficult economic and social situations: €1,000.00

Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation Award for the best work that comes from the world of school and has one or more people with disabilities as its protagonist: €1,000.00.

The winners of the three categories and the special prizes will also be awarded a trophy.

4.3 Other Prizes

Plaques will also be awarded for:

  • Best editing 
  • Best music
  • Best screenplay 
  • Best director

THE RULES

1. Terms

All works created in communities, socio-educational centres, day or residential centres, institutions and structures for people with disabilities or specific projects for people with disabling pathologies can participate in the competition. Projects created by schools are also allowed, as long as they respect all the articles of the regulation. The Films must have how to interpret people with disabilities whose presence is fundamental and predominant in the film.

2. Categories

The competition has three categories:

Short
Maximum duration allowed 15 minutes, including opening and closing credits.

Very short films/videoclips
Maximum duration allowed 5 minutes, including opening and closing credits.

Animation
Maximum duration allowed 15 minutes, including opening and closing credits.

3. Registration form

To participate it is necessary to fill out the participation.
It is important to provide all the requested information in detail, attaching, if possible, at least two photographs of the film. Incomplete submission will automatically preclude admission to the competition.

4. Consent to data processing

Sending data relating to the initiative in question and photos constitutes explicit authorization for the collection, processing and free disclosure of the data themselves and their use for the promotion of the Festival, according to Legislative Decree Legislative Decree 101/2018 (GDPR – EU Reg. 679/2016).

5. Methods and specifications for the delivery of the films

The works must be submitted by uploading them on the form on this page. Any other means of submission will automatically lead to exclusion from the competition. The works must be submitted in one of the most common video formats (mp4, MOV, Flv, Avi, Mkv, etc.) and must not exceed 3 Gigabytes. If a work should be selected among the finalists, we reserve the right to contact the authors to request a version of it at an optimal resolution for projections.

6. Acceptance of the Film

Simply sending the Work does not guarantee participation in the Festival, but must be explicitly selected by the organizers. The authors of the works selected for the competition will be contacted by the secretariat, who will communicate the date on which their film will be screened.

7. Archiving

Copies of the Works received for the competition will be retained and stored in the Festival archives. These copies will be made available after the closure of the Festival on the official website. 
Furthermore, the Works will be stored on the video servers of specific online services, such as YouTube or Vimeo, in a channel owned by the Festival del Cinema Nuovo.

8. Acceptance of the rules and the call for submissions

Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these rules and the call for submissions.
